Chapter Leaders' Workshop (CLW) Elevate Your Chapter to New Heights -- Workshop: Friday, April 20, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm -- Reception: Thursday Evening; details to follow The key to any successful ISPI chapter is leadership. The next most important thing to leadership is good succession planning so that good leadership can continue. The most important thing you can do for your ISPI Chapter this year is to send as many of your leaders as you can to the Chapter Leaders' Workshop in Toronto, Canada on April 20, 2012.
Based on past records, we know that most of the attendees to the workshop are new to chapter leadership and many are new to ISPI. With that in mind we have designed a new format to meet the needs of our new leaders. The entire morning session will be devoted to the basics of chapter management. This will also coincide with the introduction of a new ISPI product called "Chapter in a Box". It's actually on a website, not in a box, but it will help new chapters get up and running with the least amount of effort and the best possible chances for cusses. But the Chapter in a Box is not just for new chapters, it's also for existing chapters who may be open to new ideas and building an even better chapter. The entire morning will be devoted to a simulation exercise in designing a new chapter, with half that time devoted to feedback from participants.
The afternoon session will feature an ISPI staple--a cracker barrel with seven different tables lead by experts on different chapter services. This will allow participants to pick an area they need to learn more about and attend at least three different cracker barrel sessions. On Thursday evening, we invite chapter leaders to attend a social (details to follow).
