About HPT & ISPI

A Cornerstone in Human Performance Technology (HPT)

The goal of every ISPI conference is to help you improve individual and organizational performance and enable you to build and maintain a performance-based organization through a systematic, measurable, and reproducible methodology known as Human Performance Technology (HPT). HPT provides you with the means to align your Human Resources, Organizational Development, Quality, or Training Department with the "business" of your organization.

Specifically, HPT is a systematic combination of performance analysis, cause analysis, intervention selection and design, intervention implementation and change, and evaluation. HPT is designed to most cost-effectively influence human behavior and accomplishment. HPT can be applied to individuals, small groups, and large organizations.

About the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI)

There is a great deal of talk about aligning Human Resources, Quality, and Training Departments with business, and building performance-based organizations. We at ISPI believe that is a good thing. After all, we have been quietly leading the way for 44 years.

ISPI is the leading international association of professionals who are dedicated to improving individual and organizational performance through a systematic, measurable, and reproducible methodology known as Human Performance Technology.

Founded in 1962, ISPI today consists of 10,000 international and chapter members throughout the United States, Canada, and some 40 countries. ISPI members hold management and line positions in Employee Training, Human Resource Development, Instructional Systems Design, Organizational Development, Performance Improvement, and Training and Performance Consulting.

ISPI members have been steadily improving performance for the largest, most successful organizations around the world. Individual ISPI members are employed by 75% of the Fortune 100 and every branch of the United States military. They work in all settings--corporate, education, government, military, and not-for-profit.

ISPI offers its members outstanding performance improvement education, networking opportunities, and involvement through Conferences, Institutes, Book Publishing, Professional Journals, an Interactive Website, Research, Local Chapters and Professional Certification.  Learn more about ISPI from the ISPI's home page at: http://www.ispi.org.
